How to Prepare Your Child for a Nursery School Interview?

Some schools have compulsory oral interviews, while some are now carrying out written entrance examinations. Although there have been many discussions and opinions on how these assessments were performed, it may well be noted here that these school interviews that evaluate the students, their preparation for school, and the parents to some degree.  

School interviews allow school authorities to recognize the child's special needs so that any educational support is available. School interviews often enable the preparation of your child to enter the kindergarten and help get to know a student beyond the academics. The parents need to do extra homework along with their kid to crack these interviews to get into the 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝟒𝟖 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐨𝐧.  

 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝

 A child is psychologically transformed through various stages. The age of 0-2 is about hope and trust. The confidence of the child for the parents can be used to build the confidence of a child. You should have a good open relationship with your child in order to have confidence in you.

 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲

Brief your child in the interview about the school and the questions to ask. Before the interview, take your child to school and show him/her the campus, encourage him/her to interact with people there.

 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬

While admission is not specifically mentioned by the school authorities about questioning shape and colors, your child is expected to know them. Start with the school name, parents, profession, home address, country, etc. Certain essential elements like colors, alphabets, numbers, fruits, plants, forms, flowers, the national anthem of the country.

 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞

Make sure you spend time teaching your child regularly. Make a routine when you let go of the part of a fun and ask him to concentrate on the part of learning. This will be tricky for a child, but it will show results slowly.

 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭  

The last impression is the first impression. Teach your child to greet people morning, shake hands, and keep from picking up the nose. Make sure that "mam/sir" is addressed to authorities and not with aunt/uncle. Make sure your kid treats everyone with respect. Tell him/her to express their opinion calmly rather than weeping. A child who says sorry or thank you would certainly create a good impression, not just of the child, but of the entire family.

 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭

The authorities of good  𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐨𝐧 will judge the communication, interaction, motor, cognitive, and academic abilities of your child. Identify and work harder on the shortcomings of your kid. It might be speech, the language of the body, attention, handwriting, anything.

 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤

In front of strangers, most children feel shy about expressing their views. Their social interaction is aimed at overcoming this hurdle during admission. You can encourage your kid to recite poems to elders; insist on talking in English at family gatherings or with your mates in the workplace.

Besides, by conducting mock tests, familiarize your child with the interview/test environment, which helps them a lot.
