How an Ideal Preschool Curriculum Shapes the Future of A Child?

Preschool education in India has seen a rise in the last couple of decades. Earlier, only kids from well-to-do families would study in playschool, but now people from all strata of society are keen on putting their children in playschools. Preschool, like the 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐨𝐧, is more like a playhouse where the focus is less on academics and more on the development of skills and overall preparation of the child to enter a long-term school. Nowadays, there are more and more playschools coming up in almost all the cities, towns, and even villages in India. Below we look into some ways in which an ideal preschool curriculum shapes the future of the child.

𝟏. 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭- a preschool enables the development of fine motor skills in children by making them do physical activities like running, jumping, dancing, and climbing. All this helps them build healthy bones and muscles. Scribbling, coloring, and playing arranging puzzles, and play dough build their finger and hand coordination.

𝟐. 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭- In a preschool, a child learns to get along with others. Playing and studying together helps build their language and social skills. They learn to settle disputes amongst their peers with the help and guidance of the teachers. Children also learn to respect others and compromise with their classmates.

𝟑. 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭Children in a preschool, like the 𝐩𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐨𝐧learn various attributes like being patient, disciplined, and organized. Waiting for their turns to sit on the monkey pool or raising hands to answer in class, teaches them self-control and discipline, which is so important in every walk of life. Doing things on their own like washing hands or removing shoes on their own makes them independent. Helping teachers with things like picking up toys after playing teaches them the qualities of helpfulness and group work. Learning these skills boost confidence in children; this will prepare them for the future.

𝟒. 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭Listening, talking, reading, and writing help your child develop her language and communication skills. To be able to express and also understand the concepts taught in the classroom will grow and develop their thinking, reasoning, and communication skills. At a preschool, the children are provided with interesting materials like flashcards and toys, which help them, explore and understand new words and concepts.

𝟓. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬- Children are introduced with Phonics, alphabets, and numbers in a preschool and are taught in a creative way. Learning rhymes and chants and reading a picture book helps them develop their cognitive skills. Story-telling helps develop their listening, understanding, and language skills. Counting numbers on the abacus and putting puzzles together helps them to understand numbers and develop their problem-solving skills.

Preschool education, with its growing popularity, has become an essential part of the life of every toddler. It not only develops a range of skills in Children but also makes them ready to face school and life in general.
